Means you need to have your Curses attribute at level 2 to gain the full benifit of that weapon (does less damage if you don't meet the requirement). Your attributes and their currently levels are listed in the Hero window (accessed by hitting H).

Curses is one of the Necro's attributes. Open your hero menu (H) and you'll see a list of attributes for your character in the bottom section of the window. Set the Curses Attribute to level 2 and the weapon will work at the level specified. With less than 2 levels in curses you can still use the weapon it just won't be as effective. These attributes also affect your skills. Putting Attribute points into curses for example will make all of the curse "Skills" more effective. Putting points into Blood magic makes your blood "Skills" more effective. Have a look at the Skill Listing accessed from the main page for a complete description of the skills and their corresponding attributes.

Yep. The KEY here is you can use ANY weapon you find and any armor that matches your primary profession, but you will not get 100% of the bonus without the requirements. What you SHOULD think when you see, for example: req. 2 curses is... IF my attribute is 2 or more, I will get 100% of the listed bonus and do the listed damage, etc... if it is less, I will get less bonus, based on the base value of the item.

In your above case, IF you had at least 2 pts in curses, the weapon will do 7-10 damage base (of course adjusting later for armor, your skills, etc, for the real damage dealt...). IF you had 0 or 1 point in curses, the damage would be what the base damage of that weapon is... normally like 5-7 or something. There is NO scaling with skill points. Zero or one point in curses, makes no difference, the adjustment down (which is not shown to you) is the same.

One last note: IF you have modified your attribute higher than normal, this is enough for the function to work. In other words, IF you had put only 1 point in curses and then applied a minor curses rune (which gives you a total of 2 in curse), this would be enough to get the 7-10 damage.

Default answer...

From what I've seen, this is what that means:

You need to have 2 in your "Curses" attribute in order to get the full bonus of that perticular trait on the weapon... in this case "7-10 dmg".

You can use the weapon if you don't have 2 in curses, but the dmg on the bow won't be 7-10... not sure what the percentage decrease per missing req attribute point is, but I know that's the way it works. So if you want to do the full 7-10dmg with that bow... just put 2 pts into your curses attribute.

For a quick example: Last night I found 2 icons.... One had +4 Energy, the other +6 energy w/req 3 smiting prayers. I was able to equip and use both staves at their full dmg, however... since I'm a necro... I don't have 3 smiting prayers since I don't have the attribute. I still received +3 Energy using that icon, but not +6... so I ended up using the +4 icon instead.

The req. listed is SPECIFIC to the trait it's listed next to though... NOT the whole weapon.... of if you find a bow that reads:

10-15 dmg (req. 3 marksmanship)
+5 energy
+10 dmg (vs. charr)

Anyone can use the weapon... but a non ranger, or a ranger with less than 3 marksmanship, will only maintain a percentage of the weapon's listed dmg. Anyone who uses that weapon will get +5 energy, and anyone will get +10 dmg as long as they are fighting charr.

Hope that helps!
